Yes, but all it does is prevent cannibalism. I believe it grows back as well. Much better than de-beaking, IMO.

If the birds had enough room to be normal chickens they wouldn’t need to beak trim them.

I’ve asked on multiple occasions if they beak trim or debeak their parent stock and they told me they never do.
