This year is going to be my last year of school, (well, for the most part at least)! I'm pretty excited that I won't have to do school anymore after this, unless it's something else like a class I want to take or something, then I probably won't be able to do it for quite a while anyways, because I can't leave the house.

I'm still trying to figure out what I want to learn about. I do have some things I'm interested in learning about, but most all of them wouldn't be feasible for me to do right now, so I guess I don't really know.

I would like to take a permaculture class or a cooking class, but I can't do either one because I can't leave the house. :(
I'll have to search the internet for online classes if I want to do either of those, but you know online classes wouldn't be as educational as ones you do hands on.

The other thing I'm interested in is learning how to breed poultry to the Standard of Perfection. I actually know of a place where I could go take a class on it, but it's in North Carolina and that's far beyond my reach, especially when I can't leave the house. :(

So I don't really know, we'll see about those I guess. :idunno That's where I'm at right now. :hmm

Why can't you leave the house? You're not a prisoner.

For several reasons.
For one because I can't afford to, for two because my parents won't let me, and for three because my parents need my help and mom wants me to start helping her teach the other kids school. :hmm
Not really exactly something I'm looking forward to.
Once you turn 18 you can do what you want. I advise you to start thinking for yourself and working for the life you want. Your parents can't control you forever.

Thank you but...... Hmmm, I'm not sure. Mom won't let me leave until I'm married.
It's kinda hard to get married when you don't ever leave the house because then you never even see or meet anyone new.
She also doesn't want me to get married until I have a job, but I don't see how I'm going to have a job if I can't leave the house. You know what I mean, like a paying job, not my job at home.

I don't know that leaving the house is going to be quite so easy for me. They aren't going to so easily let me go. It's not like I can just leave one day and disappear.
Hmmm........ I don't know how things are going to work out.
All I know is that I REALLY, REALLY want to live in Israel!

I wouldn't be okay with this. A woman doesn't need a man to get by in life. This isn't the 18th century.
You should explain these things to your mother. This isn't back in the olden times. People actually need to leave the house and get their feet under them now, regardless of gender.

I hate sexism.

She's afraid that something is going to happen to me and that I will stop following Torah.
I have absolutely no desire to quit following the Torah at all.
She says that when we're this young, we're very fragile and can be easily led to do bad things.
What can I say? She's always been very strict with us.
I can't really do anything about it.
:idunno I don't know.

Elly,
You are strong enough to maintain your own course in life. You won't stop following the Torah no matter what, I know that :)
I know that you are capable of leaving the house to get a job and an apartment. You can do all that before you even consider marriage. Do not rush marriage, it leads to unhappy times.
