I would suggest that you read the manual that came with the incubator/egg turner.
With that said, I'm days from setting up an incubator hatching for the first time too.So, the answer from someone with a tad bit of experience is something I'll be interested in too.
So far, from what I've read, an incubator with a fan will be an asset, as it keeps the temperature in the incubator more stable.
. Glad you joined the flock. Yes your right about the fan it makes for a much even temp around the eggs where as a still air incubator can produce hot and cold spots in the incubator. Also good luck with your first hatch I'm sure you will soon be addicted like the rest of us.
