Keep fake eggs in nest box?

I took mine out of the older girls coop (1 year olds) and put them in with POL pullets. The older girls freaked out and stopped using the nest boxes until I put a few back in. So just observe for awhile after you take them out. There’s no harm in leaving them in there permanently.

We use golf balls for snake bait. If a snake gets into the nest and eats one it's not likely to get back out of the run.

I keep a ceramic egg in each nest, since my 21 month old hens started to lay. . Can you tell the fakes? Yeah it's the white eggs. I have no white egg layers, so I won't try cracking one in the fry pan. GC
