Keep me from going over board

I would also look for all the possible places that they're getting in. Do you need new seals around your doors? Along the bottom of the doors? There are a lot of products you can add to block gaps.

I'd also look at the orange oil insect sprays and think about spraying some of that around the door areas on the outside, just to make it less attractive. Maybe one of the insect soap sprays could help, too. If it was me, I'd probably try the orange oil spray first.

you could also try adding some guineas to your flock. The are much better "buggers" and add a neat dynamic. Just a suggestion.

I agree with mamaboid. Guineas are known for their proficiency at lowering the population of insects. Also snakes. Plus guineas are a bit wilder and therefore are better 'rangers' than say, a silkie. JMO.

Wish you luck. i would say get you about 6 or 7 guineas. Pen them up in a coop of some sort for 2 weeks and then turn them loose. This is to make sure they realize that your yard is their home now and keep them from flying away as soon as you turn them loose. When i have guineas, i keep them penned for 2 weeks and then for the next week, let 1 or 2 birds out to free range. then let all the birds out.
