Hi All,
I've had a bit to do with raising backyard chickens over the past 2 yrs.+but still very much a novice you could say. My interest in backyard chickens has somewhat grown since I have come to value the humble hen more and more. For one, I could sit and calmly watch chickens for hours, two, I love to care for them and watch them grow, and three, I love eggs- they are the perfect wholesome food.
Currently, i've begun incubating eggs and we chose to raise Barnevelders this time. Previously we've had mix breeds given to us- but I gave them to a neighbour because now we have become "chicken snobs" and keep heritage breeds ! - So far only 3 chicks, hoping for more in 10 days.....
Good to be apart of the community and looking forward to learning more from you.
Kindly,
Chani - Tasmania, Australia.
