I have a polish cockerel that is about to turn a year. I know the answer, but wondering if there is any hope.
He has been attacking me lately usually when I'm taking care of the food and don’t watch him close enough.
I can corner him and pick him up. I'm able to carry him around for a bit. After that he generally leaves me alone.
He tries to peck me if he can reach me through the fence (when I'm tending to to the ducks).
Just now out in the yard, he charged me a few times (I did have some corn in hand) but I was able to shoo him away. I got the broom out just in case, but he stayed his distance. He also didn't charge me when I was taking his pic.
He tidbits for the hens, but doesn't wait on them to eat - he's not got any manners. He's not too rough with the hens - except for one.
Will any of this change for the better or just get worse? Could it just be food related?

I'm sorry-aggressive roosters should be given away/made into a nourishing meal.

A year ago I would never have said that, but I remember taking care of a neighbors chickens with an aggressive rooster, and it was a nightmare. Good roosters should be kept, but unfortunately I think that aggressive ones should go.

Soup.

im normally one that likes to take birds before they turn to soup or get killed, from other people. especially hens, because why not. But he sounds way to aggressive. Poor guy, hes a cutie to. but i vote soup.

I have experience with aggressive Polish cockerels, and unfortunately, there is no helping. Sorry, but I think his aggression needs to come to a permanent end, so he should be turned into soup.
