Just found and ordered on Chewy a a thick plastic door cover for the coop! It is strips of plastic that come on a bar that you screw over the door. Just $8.99!! It’s the
Outback dog house door. I’m so excited to get it and see how it works. I’ve been wanting to make one but for $8.99 forget it!

Great, how much was shipping?

You may have to leave the center strips tied up and open until they get used to it.
Let us know how it works out....and pics of it installed would be great! :D

Nice! I was actually just thinking about something like that for my pop door just to keep the breeze out during the day when the door is open.

I was thinking of using something like this too, but I wasn’t sure if they would be able to push through the plastic. How has it worked out for you so far?

I make wind baffles for those pop doors that face the prevailing wind.

You can see the open door on the brown box. They go in, turn left and are in the coop. I can latch it shut when I don't want them going out.

My chickens caught on quickly, just taped two middle strips up to coop wall for a few days then let one strip down for a few more. Then all the strips down and they went in and out. Since they are clear plastic they can see into the coop. I tape the whole thing up in summer to let breeze in.

Known in my world as a 'tortuous path'.

Thanks @Foxinthehenhouse !
