Soon I will be getting 5 Olive Egger Chicks, 5 Easter Eggers and 5 Marans(Splash, Black copper, French).

They are all chicks when I receive them soon from a local breeder/farm I know. In case anyone wants to know there from "M&M EGGS" from Massena, NY :) Anyway, I like to keep my chickens separate. My Jersey Giants have there own Pen and coop, there is 8 of them. 1 Roo & 7 Hens. And when I get these little buggers and there ready to go outdoors I want to separate them. But, seeing how there olive eggers and Easter eggers, should I just keep them together? My plan was keep the olive eggers in there own pen with there roo and the Easter Eggers in there own pen with there roo. What's your take? I plan on selling eggs and chicks in the future.

From what I have read, those wishing to breed as you have described prefer to keep the roos in their own separate runs, with the girls altogether. When breeding is desired, the preferred hens are put with the specific roo. Its only what i remember reading, so i hope that breeders can help you out soon.

All the best
