Keepers Rough Tote as Food / Bedding Storage?

Our coop gets delivered on Sunday (yay!) so I am pulling together the rest of my supplies. I have these bins that have been in our yard forever (years) and when I opened them, the contents inside (mostly books and other random stuff) were all in perfect condition.

These bins obviously do a great job locking out moisture, etc, but I'm wondering if they're predator proof enough to store chicken feed. We live in an urban area, so we mostly have raccoons, skunks and possums. Thoughts?

Critters can chew through plastic. I wouldn't keep feed outdoors in those, but they would work well for bedding.

We just had rats chew through plastic gasoline cans. They'll chew through that stuff even if it holds nonedibles, IMHO. Galvanized trash cans or anything metal with a tight lid will be much safer.

Squirrels will gnaw into those so fast it isn't even funny.

Thanks! Don’t know why I didn’t think of Lowe’s. I have a coupon for TSC so they come out a few cents cheaper than Lowe’s - but saves me the extra stop too.

Got the metal trash cans. Yea! Do you pour the feed directly in or keep it in the bag? I’d like to try to get 2 bags into one can if possible. 31 gallon can, 50# of feed.
