I've got six and a half coops atm.

I clean in rotation normally so each gets cleaned out roughly once a week.
I don't use chemicals in the coops as a rule. However, if I've had a death in the coop, chick or adult, I clean as outlined below and then scrub walls and floor with a disinfectant called Zotal.

Normal mite and pest control is done with a blowtorch. The blue tip of a decent blowtorch flame is 400 degrees centigrade. Just touch from this kills every known mite and it's eggs instantly. There is no residue to worry about and as long as you haven't set fire to the coop the chickens can go back in immediately.
This coop didn't get quite the full treatment because I'm trying to encourage a hen to sit on the eggs that are accumulating.
I've reduced the file size of the pics so hopefully they will load reasonably quickly.

About a weeks worth of, well, you know.

I'm trying to keep this reasonably clean, especially the top board below the perch because I've got a hen with neurological problems the can't perch so it's nice if she isn't sitting in her own poop. She wedges herself between the perch and the wall at night.

All the nest boxes in my coops are removable as are all the roost bars.
Nest boxes and used roost bar removed trying to preserve the nest.
In this coop the nest box and roost bar doesn't have a back or base which means even if a hen is sitting I can still clean around her by sliding the arrangement out.

A bit rushed and I don't usually char the roost ends this much.

Nest box arrangement back in place with some extra straw with the eggs and new straw in the second nest.

Other side scraped and brushed.

Two more coops. I've just done the yellow coop but it's got an occupant so no blow torching.

Here she is two weeks into her sit.
