Keeping banthams with full size birds

I have a bantam rooster he is very sweet and some hens and I introduced him to my hens and he did the mating dance but my hen felt uncomfortable and stressed (was making low to high pitched sounds) then shortly after she followed him and they were fighting but I separated them because he is around 1/2-2/3 smaller than my standard RIR’s, should I have done that? For next time what do I do if there is some blood drawn because the hen poked the rooster in the red thing that hangs on its chin and it was bleeding a little. I separated them in separate coops and put them back after 2 hours and watched them from afar and they were eating together at the same time and roaming but from afar(2 yards away from each other) and if I get them get close to each other they run the opposite way. I really don’t like/want them fighting so I put my rooster in my run and my hen outside where the fence is. So I don’t know if this is normal this is my first time introducing other chickens to the flock (ps: they are used to being the only chickens(sorry for spell error was in a rush))
They technically weren’t eating together they were eating at the same time but if I pushed my rooster near the hen she starts doing her crowing again. So the only way they ate was if it was like 1 yard away from the others food. My rooster was very happy and calm to start but now my hen is scared of my rooster and my roosters of my hen. They have tried avoiding each other during the time I’ve seen them. Can someone help me out?

When they were fighting the were finding the pecking order, she was trying to see is she was more dominant than the rooster. The red thing on your roosters chin are his wattles. it’s normal for new chickens to stray away from original chickens because they have never seen them before so they haven’t become friends. Once your new chickens are used to your original chickens you’ll notice them eating closer and not being scared of the other chickens.

Oh okay yes I noticed that because I had them sleep separately and I let them out and they were both pretty calm and would start getting closer like if a water dispenser was in the right side and if the hen was there too then the rooster would walk to get water and leave. But my hen would still make her noises. And again today my hen flares up her neck hair and so did my rooster and they jumped at each other and pecked each other and left (it lasted like 2 seconds). I separate them when I go I inside, should I do that or should I try to risk it and keep them together because my hen is still pretty flustered and bothered.

Okay so I asked the person who sold me my bantam frizzle rooster how old he is, and they said he is around 6 months. And my lead hen was raised by me since she was a chick and is around 10 months old. I’m guessing the size and age makes a difference on how they act? Or is it because they’ve been so long with my lead hen that they consider her their rooster? Or should I just separate them until my rooster are atleast a year or so old???

I would leave them in with each other to find their pecking order, they will fight but that’s is completely normal. Once your rooster sees your hen is more dominant they’ll quit fighting. I know it’s tempting to separate them but they have to fight a little to find the order.

Okay thank you it is tempting because my rooster is small and young but is very determined to be on top my lead hen is also just as determined so they won’t stop until the other gives up and neither of them will so they start pulling deaths and my big hen jumps on my small rooster and they keep fighting
