So we have two ducklings, probably will get one more depending on what these two turn out to be. Want two females and a male. We also have 19 chickens(that will be going into the coop) would it be fine to leave them all together in the coop? Or should I just make a dog house for the ducks? I believe they will have enough space in the run for all of them, going to be 20x30 and free ranging when I am out there. So what do you all think.

Ducks will get the chicken water dirty. Ducks need to wash their bills.

I'm pretty new to raising chickens and ducks but we have 3 adult ducks (1male and 2 female) and 6 hens and 1 rooster in a run together. Our ducks won't go into the coop so we just leave them in the run. They get along just fine.

Yeah I know the ducks need to be able to submerge at least to their nostrils. Do you think the chickens would drown if we put a kiddie pool in the run?

That's a pretty neat idea. I think I may try that with ours. You could just place the pool in during the day and watch them closely. I wouldn't think the chickens would be interesed in going near it unless they need a drink so keep plenty of water located away from it.

Yeah we are putting waterer nipples in there, probably within the week. I know right now the chicks perch on the edge of the watering tub, for the ducks, and drink like that. Never had a problem with any falling in, but just want to be sure.
