Keeping chickens safe from my outdoor cat

Me personally? I'm hoping the roo I order will have been hatched with a hatred for cats. Killer Kitty needssome critter, somewhere to put her in her place and I'm betting on a rooster to do it. Goodness knows she's already got the dogs whipped. :|

Oh, I love that! I wouldn't mind if Johnny decided to hang out with the chickens and be friends. I just don't want him trying to hunt and eat my breakfast makers!!

nccatnip: Funny you should mention the roo for free-ranging. Last night, I swear I dreamed about it, I was thinking about the hawks that we have close by. I guess I was hoping that our eventual guard dog would help take care of the hawk/predator problem. I just might need to re-think the roo part. I like the sound of crowing in the morning and a surprise hatching of babies would be something.

Goose was completely unaware she was being stalked. She was busily feeding with her beak in the dirt. The former cat was a monster. Probably weighed a good 20lbs. or more. Was actually quite friendly to people but a vicious predator when it came to birds, rabbits,.......basically anything that moved.

Fletcher------ if you beat me to the 10k I expect you to share it with me.
