Keeping chickens with a ducks and geese

Is it possible to keep duck or geese with my 5 chickens my plan is to get one of them ponds from walmart and dig it in the ground not the coop and let them free range all day the only time they'd be together is when it gets dark because I know they say ducks make the coop damp and the chickens could drown that's why I'd thought I'd put the pond in the yard somewhere
