Keeping count?

How do I get my chickens to stand still so I can count them! They are so energetic that they will not stand still!I really don't know how much chickens I have because I can't count them. Any suggestions on the topic?

Count them on the roosting bars when they go to bed.

Well, I think I have 45 now or 50 bit half of them aren't in the coop they are in the run(AT DARK!!!)Then some are in nesting boxes

I count at night after dark using a flashlight or while they're eating around the feeder.

Put more roosts in and block the boxes. They shouldn't be sleeping in them

Why are they sleeping in the run? Isn't your coop big enough to house them all?
