HEY BYC! i recently got 4 ducklings in the mail (3 pekin, 1 black swedish) and i currently dont have a heat lamp on them all i have is a regular light bulb. Is there something that i can do to warm them until i get a heat lamp?

Congrats on your new ducklings! There are a few stop-gaps you could use until you get a heat lamp. You could put a heating pad on the bottom of the brooder with a towel or something on top, or one of those hand-warmer packets wrapped in a wash cloth. A 100 watt bulb will kick off a lot of heat. Just be sure that they can't wander off into a corner and get too cold. Also, remember to put marbles or something in their water so they don't try to swim, or nod off while they're drinking water. You'll want it to be around 95°F in the brooder.

If you use a standard bulb, be sure they can't touch it or peck it! Good luck! Please post if you have more questions.

I have never used anything but a lightbulb and a reflector for my babies. You don't necessarily need a heat lamp unless they are somewhere cold.

Are they indoors or out?
Where are you located?

I'm assuming you got day olds so, 90-95 degrees for the first week. Put a light up and make sure they can get out of the heat. Put their food and water just at the edge of the heat so it's close enough for them.
