Keeping feed safe from rodents

I use plastic rain gutters for feeders a nice long line of eating hens makes for peaceful meals ,

You can hang them from chains off the ground , also maybe you need to feed twice a day and then remove food, seems to be a common system

Welcome to Backyard Chickens! We are glad you joined the flock!:frow BYC is a helpful site providing all the information you need to know about poultry! I had a rodent problem in my barn (mice) and they won't come around if the feed is in a feeder since there are always chickens around it. I definitely wouldn't throw the feed on the ground. If that solution doesn't prevent the problem then I would recommend taking the feeder away when the chickens are finished eating. Hope you enjoy it here as much as we all do!
