Keeping hen still enough for oral syringe feeding

Hey everyone. I've got a hen who has a respiratory infection, and got some antibiotic powder to mix in with her water. She's generally uninterested in food and water, so I've been trying to orally syringe the water to her. It's a syringe with a little tube attached. However, I can't keep her still enough to insert the little tube where it needs to go, and because she is having such a hard time breathing I don't want to stress her out too much, and certainly don't want to grasp her head very hard. Is there a trick to keeping her still and not pull back? Thanks!

Were her eyes covered?
They were covered as much as I could, but she seemed to like that even less. I've decided to try and stop attempting the tube feeding since I'm just not at all confident and fear I could aspirate her. Now, I'm soaking bread in the water and having her eat the bread. I had forgotten about that little trick, but we'll see if she improves...
