Hi,
I have two almost month old runner ducks. I am possitive that one is a boy as it has started making the male duck sound and also I can definitely tell when i sexed him. My other one looks like a girl and has yet to quack but has started making broken squeek sounds, if they both turn out to be male I don't want to get rid of either of them so is there a way they can live together is a flock? I already have 2, 6 year old females who have free range of my garden (which is very large) during the day, would I need to get more females to get a better boy:girl ratio, if so how many?
Thank you x

I have two male ducks housed together with no females, they are fine.
The ratio is like 3-4 females per 1 male If I remember right. Females bring out the territorial instincts in males. :)

Hello, it all depends on the Drakes. Breeding season can be horrid with two Drakes out with Hens..
I can attest to that, my boys must be seperated now, when not supervised. They're only a year old so I'm hoping they calm down in the fall and next year. Keeping them seperated kinda complicates their care, but we manage.
