Keeping Meaties Dry!

Terrible rain here where I am...how do you keep your meaties dry if you have them in a wire grow out pen or tractor? I have a tarp of a portion of the grow out pen and a plastic 55 gallon drum with shavings in it for them as their shelter (4 cornish x) but it still got water in the barrel and the shavings are wet in the front of it and I put the food inside so it doesn't get wet but geeze this is messy!

Figure out which direction the wind and rain are coming from - and put the tarp end that way (think how you use an umbrella - same principal).

Bigger tarp is called for it sounds like! Or some clear plastic sheeting from the hardware store (it's sold as vapor barrier and also painters cloth - get at least a 4ml thick so it lasts a bit longer). A roll of plastic sheeting - 20'x100' was $18 at Farm&Fleet near me. I've also gotten it from Menards - for about the same price.
