Keeping my hand OUT of the hatcher

Well, now I've done it. I have a whole slew of eggs in the hatcher, day 19 on some, day 20 on some. I had several pips this morning, and couldn't keep my hands out.

Yep, you guessed it.
Loser-girl drops one while helping the tiny air hole. So much for helping, eh?

I wrapped it in a warm paper towel and put him back, but the fall from counter height to probably did the little bugger in. He was cheaping.

They're Wheaton eggs, and the shell/lining is so thick. I just wanted to make sure it could get a bit of air through that pip.

Have I learned my lesson.... YES..... I am duct taping my hands to my sides. Maybe I'll duct-tape my mouth while I'm at it.

I like you have a hard time keeping my hands to myself. This is my first time incubating and when they begin to hatch I will come back and read this thread.
Remember. Some people set good examples but others like me have to settle to be horrible warnings

UPDATE:
Hubby just called! I have 6 chicks roaming the bator, and one is from the paper towelled-shattered egg. She lived!

I know, I've learned a lesson, but isn't it great!! !!
