I got 2 new chicks this summer. 1 Silkie and 1 Ameraucana and they are best friends! The Silkie started to crow 4 mornings ago. We are planning on keeping him because he is so sweet and actually a big wimp. I also have 3, 2 year old Buff Orpington hens. He only crows in the morning at 7:30 on the dot but after the Buffs come out, he stops and doesn't make a peep the rest of the day. He is twice as small as the Buffs and seems scared of them haha. I just wanted to post and get any advice rooster owners have. Also, is it common for him just to crow in the morning?
