Hi! I've been reading on the site for a few months now. I kept 100 chickens every summer with my grandmother until I was about 12. We live in suburbia but we spend summers in the hills of rural north Georgia with our two kids. I'm researching what breeds we will keep this summer that are docile and hardy. We probably won't keep more than five for the first summer. I will give them away in our town or they will go to a friend in Alabama who has kept guinea and ducks for years.

Aside from deciding what to keep and where to get the pullets from, we are in the planning stages of our small coup. We have a unique design idea that I'm hoping will work out. I will ate lots of pictures. I'm hoping to start building it with the kids over spring break.

Excited to have the chickies with us this summer. It's been too long.
