hi

i am hoping to start taking care of rabbits. i wanted to know if anyone had some good advice that they can give me.

some of m questions are:

1. can i keep male and females together in a small area? (by small i mean about a small room)
2. can i keep them outside during the winter? ( i live in calgary, AB, canada. winters get cold like aroung minus 30C)
3. how long does pregnancy take?
4. can i cross breed them?
5. can i keep different breeds together?

thank you so much and i look forward to hearing from anyone with any advice.

I agree. Most people can answer them better there. But yes, you can keep different breeds together. I have a Checkered Giant/American Chinchilla, Chocolate mini-rex, and a Chocolate mini-rex/American chinchilla living together in this huge cage! Also, I wouldn't recomend having males & females together unless you want babies, and after that takes place, I wouldn't keep them together. ETA:
As cross breed... I think you mean breeding two different breeds together? Sure.. it wouldbe a mutt rabbit :P. I did that with an American Chinchilla Buck with a Chocolate minirex, and a Checkered Giant. I believe it takes around 31 days but can differ 2 days either way,,,
