Keeping rain out of coop

I know this is a long shot but thought I would ask here. Is there any kind of window mesh or fabric that allows airflow but blocks blowing rain? I'm about finished with my coop build and we've had alot of storms recently. Our normal hard rain isn't getting into the coop but we had a bad storm with high winds that blew rain in through the side vents I believe (luckily chickens are still in their starter coop). Before I build some kind of hinged covers, I wanted to know if anyone has any better suggestions. The coop is 3.5'x8' and also has vents that vents run along the front and back wall, both about 3" in height. The three front windows, and side windows also open to allow for lots of ventilation in the TX heat. Any suggestions on preventing rain blowing in?
