Keeping Shavings our of Food/Water

Gutters would work, but the bucket reseviore would need to be air tight like a mason jar waterer. It would work. PVC pipe is cheaper than gutters, and less mess for sure. Also no chance of drowning or having them get up there and try to roost on it, or crap in it.

I have never worked with PVC and was under the impression it was pretty pricey. I can get the 10' piece of gutter for $6...
What do you cut PVC with?
How could I mount it to the inside - side of my coop?
Where is the best place to get it? Lowe's / Home Depot?

$4-6 for 10' of 2" PVC. $3 for an elbow. $6 for the nipples. $3 for glue. If you want to attach it to a bucket, add another $10 for fittings. Cut it with a chop saw, hacksaw, sawzall, table saw, etc. Use a saw.

Use plumbers tape (metal flexible strap with holes in it) or buy brackets used to attach pvc to walls. Just ask the folks at Lowes or Home Depot. Really simple.

I drilled a hole through the wall with a hole saw and supported it on the other end with a block of wood attached to the wall. Being so close to the wall, they can't jump up on it.
