keeping the actual roosting board clean

We have two 8 foot long 2X4's (reinforced) roosts and the chickens poop all over them. Do you all clean them every day? As soon as we come in the coop the roosts are on the right hand side and you have to be very careful not to bump up against them. UCK. I wish I had windshield tear offs like the race car drivers have, wouldn't that be sweet ! Any suggestions ?

I don't clean my roost very often at all, maybe whoosh the droppings-board scraper down it every couple months just for pretty. It gets a bit of poo on it, sure, but I really do not think there is any way of avoiding that with chickens and it's not like it matters. (I clean my droppings board every morning, though - 10 seconds, poo gone, all happy

)
