Keeping the eggs from rolling...

i saw somewhere on here they used shelf liner, the soft kind in a roll, i bought some at the dollar store the other day to put my eggs on, but if the egg cartoon works like you say i'll do that, thanks for the ideas!

I thought turning them wide end up at 18 days let them have better access to the air sac.

But then I have never hatched any eggs....

what's to keep you from laying them on their sides in the egg cartons?? I do it with goose eggs.

I have used the carton method since last summer, and won't go back to laying them on their sides. The silkies kinda lean to one side in the carton, and so far I haven't had any problems with chicks not being able to hatch. They kind of like to hang out in the empty carton, too...
