Keeping the inside of my coop dry/clean in winter

Can't be all that delicate....I have no time in maintaining it. Flip over some poop, add some material. That's about it. No additives needed more than that, really...just materials, moisture, turning in the poop, good airflow.
I've seen plenty of 'dead' compost piles...that didn't have the right balance of materials, moisture, oxygen, micro and/or macro bugs.
I've also seen piles work wonderfully for years in the right spot with someone who knows what they need and can identify adjustments.

Your coop is on dirt in a mild climate, has been for years and probably teeming with the right organisms, and I'll bet you adjust it without even thinking about it cause it's just natural to you.

Well...it's only been there in that place for a little over a year, but it could very well have the right organisms and I don't do much adjusting, though. Truly. Just add materials, cover poop, wait until it all dissolves down into the soil and then add more material and keep covering poop...like making poop lasagna.

I don't add PDZ or lime, don't worry when it gets too wet..just add a little leaves and know it will dry out in short order due to the open ventilation. In the summer I let the rains keep it moist and also throw my old water into the middle to help, add flower bed trimmings, etc. That's about it.

I'm thinking anyone else could do the same if they had the right ventilation in the coop.
