Keeping Turkeys of Different Breeds Together

Earlier this year I tried to keep a Eastern Wild with a Bronze Turkey, one male and one female, age about 4-5 months old. They could not be kept together as all they would do is fight. I assumed if they were different gender they would get along. Is this true if they are the same breed?? I would like to get a pair of Bourbon Reds and try again this year, but would like to get them from different parents. What are the odds that they will get along. Should I get them at a young age (eggs) or at what age is it likely they will not get along.

If you raise the poults together there shouldn't be much squabbles. Guess your hen does not like the tom. You are certain its a hen?
