Keeping water clean in the brooder

Ducklings in the brooder, how do you keep the water clean?

Right now I'm using little mushroom containers zip tied to their cage.

Faith, trust, and pixie dust.

I haven't found a way yet. Messy creatures. But their cuteness makes up for it.

I just tried to refresh the water frequently and wash the containers daily.

raise it up maybe? for my chicks I always have it up on a platform they can easily get on , but all the dirt falls through the wire so it doesnt mess up the water.
