Had a bad storm here last night and this morning there was a very small bird (no idea what kind) wet and shivering on top of our Silkie's coop. Seems like it is unable to fly. I placed him/her inside with our four Silkie chicks (range from 5-7 weeks old) b/c I obviously felt bad for the little guy. I'm worried about possible diseases or bugs that could be spread? Is keeping this guy inside the coop with our chicks a bad idea? I guess we don't really want to keep it long term but would at least like to feed it and help it get back on its feet (so to speak).

Since it is so strongly encouraged to quarantine any new birds (usually gotten from known sources) I would be very leery about putting this guy in with the babies.
Maybe you could keep it in a carrier until it dries off .. offer it a little canned cat food (if you think it's a bug-eating bird) and some water....?
