Woke one morning to baby keet inside this and almost dead. held her in my hands for long time trying get her warm. She made it, thank goodness but 2nd baby not so lucky. Came home from work and found baby had gotten in feeder and got half way out and got stuck and that's how I found him. Has anyone else had this happen with these feeders? I now just use the base of it but doing it that way, food is kicked every which way.

I use just the base as well til they get a bit older...and for the same reason...didn't want any keets getting stuck.
Have found tho that raising the feeder helps to keep them from getting stuck. .

This happened to one of my keets a couple of days ago too. Luckily I saw it and managed to fish it out unharmed in time. I've been using apple sauce jar lids as feeders - they're quite deep, and I just put a bit of feed in the bottom. Not sure there's any way to avoid the food getting kicked about, but the deep-ish lip of the lid seems to help keep it to a minimum, and at least they can't get stuck in there!
