Kentucky Specks info please

I just got some Kentucky Specks chicks and all I know is they are a 200+ year old breed and not very common. And they are bantam and from Kentucky. No really, the parents of these chicks came from Kentucky.

Anything else interesting about them? What are they bred for? Who developed the breed? Why are they not in the standard if they are a 200 y/o breed? Do they come in any other color but mottled? Anyone here ever have or currently have them?

Ooh pretty, they remind me of Exchequer Leghorns. What colored eggs do they lay? Did you hatch yours out?

It is getting very frustrating!!
