Hi I believe I can post on here about ducks as well? Thanks for accepting me. I live in the south of England and have recently become the new owner of two female khaki Campbell's ducks. They were hatched in May so are now nearly 6 months old. I have found BYC site very useful on several occasions.
So, my ducks have not laid yet and I wonder if anyone can advise me please? They free range and appear very settled having free access to a spring as well as lots garden/lawn areas and a safe pen which they choose to spend a lot of their time in. I feed them layers pellets as well as mealworm snacks, grains and vegetable peelings etc. They have a coop at night which has a nest box with fake egg to encourage them and they have access to oyster shell and grit. They seem happy and eat well so I don't know why they haven't laid yet. Any ideas please? Thanks.
