I just got the cutest pair of Khaki Campbells from my TSC, and was hoping some experienced duck owners could answer some questions for me.
1. Can you tell male and female babies apart? One of mine is noticeably lighter than the other and stands on top or in front of it every time theres a sound or I'm around.
2. Metzers says they are a nervous breed, anyone got any opinions on temperament?
3. I have one male goose, the main reason I got these ducks is to keep him company. Anyone introduced this breed to geese before? I've read a lot on how and I'm not worried, just wondering if they are going to be scared of him forever, because ganders are protectors, so I'm hoping they won't be.
4. Also, how old would you recommend they be when I introduce them? I believe they are 2 or 3 days now
5. I have them in a large dog kennel with an old towel down, food, shallow water and a heated pillow thing to snuggle on, any tips on what they might play with? I always gave my gander beads on a rope, but why do I feel like ducks wouldn't like that?
