Thank you for checking on her, shes doing ok. Still not walking around or applying pressure. But she uses that foot to itch her face, so cant be all bad. Swelling goes up and down, no clicking luckily. She does like to sit in her tub if water which I add fresh dried lavender, passion flower and some oregano too. Then she gets a shovel full of cool mud and worms in a tub with water. She sits in that too. I gave her a drop of my CBD (500mg.) on a yummy worm and she seemed calm and maybe pain free. Tonight we were told to give her arnica 30c and we started that. So hoping for the best. All these years I thought Loo was the bad duck, but nope Its her sister Lily pad lol.How is your duck doing?
Are there any lesions on the underside of the feet?
If you bend and feel the joints, do you hear any clicking, or feel what might be broken bones?
If not, it is likely she received soft tissue damage to the area (sprains/strains) which has created some inflammation. This is a common problem with waterfowl, and can often be due to over-mating from drakes, or from tripping over objects/getting their feet caught in things.
Rest, and time will prove most effective for healing, but allowing her to sit in cool deep water daily may also be beneficial. If you have any NSAIDS, such as aspirin on hand, you can administer that to reduce some of the inflammation occurring. Aspirin dose is 5miligrams per kilogram of body weight once a day.
