Making a pond for ducks? is it worth it? or should i just stick to my kiddie pool again this summer
(honestly i am tired of having to drain it and put new water in almost every other day and i think they would like something bigger and deeper to swim in)

I'm really curious about doing a pond --
any ideas?

How are you planning on cleaning a pond.. ..unless it is large and deep with a rip-rap bank it will need to be cleaned.

I also didn't like having to refill the big kiddie pool every 3 days. If I let it go longer than 3 days (with three runners), they wouldn't touch it. Algae blooms and it smelled nasty. I didn't blame them for not touching it.

So I built this.

I am getting ready to drain it and the filter box and clean it in the next week or two. Then I'll fill it back up and worry about it at the end of the summer.
I have a pool skimmer - I use that about once a day to do a quick scoop to get leaves off and scoop up some poop from the bottom.

Yes, it is green.
Yes, I'd freak out if I feel in it.
But it does not stink and the ducks have no issues spending lots of their day in it.

If I were to do it again, I would put a drain in the filter box.
