Last night I processed a turkey that had broken a wing. When I gutted it, one of the kidneys had greenish stuff around it. I at first thought that I had broken open the gall bladder and it had leaked bile, but when I examined it, the gall bladder was intact, and the greenish matter was definitely associated with the kidney. The bird appeared to be healthy otherwise (I don't know what happened to the wing, just found her on her side, unable to get up). Any ideas what this might be? Is it contagious? I have nine other birds I'm hoping to keep around until Thanksgiving.
