I'm taking my 10 yo DD to the Ohio Nationals, Saturday only. She's hoping to get a good look at what showing is about and ask some questions (I'm not sure what she's going to be asking, so I'm a little nervous...Hmm..might need to have a conversation with her about that.....)

She's very much into her Bantam Buff Brahmas, but she is also into Frizzles. I know my daughter, so I know she's going to want to buy something while we're there.

Any suggestions for what kind of a limit/amount I should lot to her for spending? For those who take their kids, what do you allow them?

And keep in mind, we're talking about a 10 year old girl who is just starting to show interest in showing, and is just starting to show interest in quality with her birds.

Her biggest project right now, Mille Fleur Sizzles.

Is no one else taking kids?? or do you not give the kids money to spend? (that's probably the best idea LOL)

I guess it depends on what you are willing to spend. I know that in our area ( and OH) the Jr. call ducks have very stiff competition so parents go out and spend $200- $300 for one duck so their kids can win.

It does help on the price (most cases anyways) if you have your child with you and let them know you are buying for Jrs.

Poultry shows are not like the 4-H show.......not to be mean in anyway, but for the 4-H shows quality isn't much of an issue.

Hey.....pm Pathfinders and see if she anyhing your kids would be interested in.....she loves kids and she is going to the Ohio show.

Hi,
I'd say probably at least $50. She should be able to find a nice pair for that.
Eat before you go the food is ridiculous up there on the grounds!
Maybe pack and lunch in cooler with pops or water. Its a complete rip off food price wise.
Best of luck finding something she likes!
Take care,
Angela
