Kids aren’t gentle

He is allowed in every room and he is 7 so he can open up a lid and if not when he trís he will break it. Plus we are doing tin in a garage so there is a place to put them where he can’t get them in there. He is allowed in the garage because his bike and helmet and stuff is in there.

Kids can learn to be gentle. My 4-year-old was super gentle with the chicks when they hatched, and he's a total tornado otherwise. A 7-year-old is plenty old enough to understand the need to be gentle with a fragile little creature, and to show the self-control and care necessary to execute the task. Talk to him, practice (like the paper idea), and definitely supervise the first encounters, so you can show him how to hold and handle the chicks properly.
