Kids, our newest predator

We decided to let this one slide, even though it was unfair.
We gave them a warning and their parents too.
Next time they are seen on the property the police are being called immediately.
Thank you all for your opinions and support.
I was very mad at the time and perhaps got a little inappropriate when I yelled at the children.
I realize that they are children, but that still does not excuse what happened.
There is no excuse when it comes to killing.

We do have some good news though, we have three baby ducks that should hatch within the first week of November.
We are going to keep a very very close eye on them and just hope for the best.
I really do think that the kids learned their lesson, I haven't seen any of them near the house since.
I think my boyfriend scared them, I doubt they will be back.

I don't think you were out of line yelling at them. You had to let them know how upsetting this was and how bad it was to do that.

Congrats on your three eggs due to hatch. Is it from the same mama?

Be sure to post photos in the duck forum when they hatch.

I cant believe as a parent, they were mad at you for yelling at the kids. If my child killed a duckling I would be fit to be tied. That is the start of very disturbing behaviour. Cruelty to animals is something that should be taken seriously, ESPECIALLY in young children.

same here what if it was them they would be crying very hard if someone did that and i would have beat them up so they know how they duck feels when they did that to it
