Middle picture here looks like yolk?
The chick is supposed to finish absorbing before it is ready to leave (search byc for unabsorbed yolk to see the FAQ, it haooens to everyone)
My best (read poor, at best) guess is that for some reason it pipped internally before it was done absorbing. Sometimes they even hatch, sometimes people help them hatch...this one just hung out until there was no oxygen left.

I agree... you did such an amazing job. I'm so sorry, Kiki. Maybe you are just meant to hatch Balut! The horse eggs were great practice to save the little ducks!

The vet won't be able to open quick enough tomorrow morning.
I hope it is nothing too serious.
Hims got squished a little and it looks like hims should area is hurt.

Speaking of... I realize it might be a little soon to ask, but after all these experiments, when are you going to incubate some chickens?

No time soon. Ive never wanted to hatch chickens. Well not until I can keep them. I dont have room right now and I'm not one for just hatching to sell.
