So yellow & early check puffs indicate boys? What about the keeping fluff after the others lost theirs? 4 weeks old and growing!

Molly is off the nest with her brood, but the late hatcher hasn't hatched yet. I brought it inside, boosted the humidity in the incubator a bit and popped the top off the egg. I was a little too aggressive with the membrane and it bled a little bit. I thought it would be closer to hatching but I guess it is a good bit farther behind the others.

I took one of my trays out and two of the Chocolate Orp eggs I set last night are laying on the bottom. I got the humidity up to 70% and I'll leave it there long enough for this little one to hatch.

Were you able to get a good source for your quail hatching eggs? I just put an incubator in lockdown today, eggs are from Myshire Farms. Hard to candle but I think there's been good development, only had to remove 10 clears out of 80 set.

I really want local...I'm not ready for shipped eggs yet, I think. ( I don't make my mind up easily.) I have found someone local but I have no idea if their eggs are good or not.
Another BYCer in my area referred me to him, and this BYcer buys eggs from him but she buys them to eat, not hatch.

If I ever get into quail, I'm thinking about asking @CapricornFarm ship me some of her Jumbos.
