Crix is a retard. He's more independent, extremely sweet, also doesn't bark, isn't destructive, and doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body, but i don't trust him or his responses. He's getting better, though. He has more freedom now, and he's doing well with it. I think he'll get there, and be a really good dog. It's just more of a challenge. Doesn't hurt that he's easy on the eyes. View attachment 2307761
I don't trust his recall off leash with stimuli. He does really well if there's nothing going on, which is a huge improvement in itself, but he's got a ways to go. I'm happy with his progress, though. We walked past 2 shepherds the other day with one of those invisible fences, and he did not approach them or bark at them even though they were going ape shit. Lou helps big time.aww! He seems like he’s coming along! By responses do you mean like what he’ll do on walks and stuff or how he is with Lou or? Like is he reactive or? You don’t have to answer, I’m just curious what you mean by responses haha I’m sure he’ll get there!
Frank had a ton of anxiety as a puppy but he grew out of most of it. We thought he’d always be a nervous wreck haha he still has some anxiety and doesn’t really trust most strangers but he’s gotten a lot better.
I think having a confident older sibling really helped a lot and then now being a part of a pack and having lots of fosters in and out. But I think the biggest thing was just age and time. He grew out of most of it.
Of course being a puppy it was probably easier than having ingrained habits and things. I know someone with a rescue who they also got around a year or year and a half, something like that, and I swear that dog has like dog PTSD or something because sometimes the dog will just like suddenly become terrified like they triggered a memory or something and won’t snap out of it or come near![]()
Is he the Texas Dummy?I got Lou at the pound when he was 12 weeks. He was potty trained in 5 days, never chewed anything, never dug holes, never barks, knows not to get wild in the house, always listens, friendly with all other animals (including birds even when totally unsupervised) and is 100% my dog. He doesn't care about anyone else. So, yeah. He's one of those "I got luck af dogs". I don't expect to get so lucky ever again.
