Nix the bamboo now, while you have the chance. It's pretty, and it grows/spreads quickly, so it makes a "good" screen ... at first. But ... it's rapidly invasive, choking out native species, and is a virtual food desert for everything except pandas. So ... unless you plan to raise pandas, you may want to start with ripping that nasty stuff out!
I've read (here somewhere) that bamboo leaves are in fact much enjoyed by poultry—young leaves, I assume—but then kudzu was originally introduced as a forage crop (it IS a useful forage crop in fact) and look how that's turned out. I looked around for bamboos that could survive our cold winters and came up empty. If there is one, I failed to turn it up. They're typically quite hardy but everything has its limits. In a climate like mine you'd likely be safe. It might grow through ten years of mild winters but eventually a real cold 'un would kill it all or at least knock it back severely. That's obviously not happening in FL.

There are non-invasive bamboo species; it might be worth learning whether the one on the land you're looking at is one of those. Once they have a foothold it can be impossible to eradicate them as they reproduce primarily by spreading underground.

When you're dealing with a toddler that cranky, you ll eat whatever is in front of you, simply because you're too exhausted to make anything else ... You'll pretend to love it, too, ..."Ooo, look what I have ... it's soooooo yummy .... see? I have some for you, too, but if you don't come get it now, I'm gonna eat it ALL! YUMMMMmmmmmm!"
Truer words have never been spoken ... by someone who has never dealt with a raging toddler! It's the rationale that every parent starts out with ... and is one of the first that goes out the window when reality hits ... right after the one that says, "I'll sleep when the baby does...!"
:gig :lau:gig
This is all true and hilarious but I wasn’t talking about kids 😂🤣

List finished looking at the property. They're leasing sime of the property to the neighbors for cows. The house is had a French provincial country look, old furniture but it it very well done and doesn't look like it should be replaced or something. A very nice and new kitchen. Has a nice pool.
The owner is a famous artist with a cute little doggy. She's looking to downsize in a smaller house in a community or something, as her husband has passed away.
The place is beautiful with woods, open pastures, and a spring. Plenty of space for animals.
Only problem is that it only has 3 beds with 2 bathrooms in the house. It has an in law suite being used as an art studio. A bathroom in there, and a bathroom out by the pool. No garage but it has a carport sorta thing.

Building a garage and converting a studio is a heckuva lot simpler and less expensive than starting from scratch. Plus it's so much easier to finance.

It isn't just the weather that is a problem here. It is also the soils and the alkaline water.

Oh I wasn’t sure cause I thought mroo was talking about kids haha now I’m just confused 😂🤣 but it still applies though 😂🤣
You said that "you're not required to make things that you hate."
You're not required, but marriage is a give-and-take. Hubs suffers through my love for Thai food because I crave it like a freakin pregnant woman. He hates it. He loves me.
Which was the original point.. Keeks making goat for the Mex.

Yeah but you were quoting Mroo with that so it confused me 😂 and yeah I get that and I would be fine if it was give and take and we both occasionally ate things we didn’t like, I actually agree with you, but it seemed like some never made what they like cause of someone else? And I wouldn’t do that cause it’s not fair for them to expect me to eat things I hate but they refuse to.

She does sell them actually. In the art studio a bunch looked like they were ready to be shipped or whatever. Sadly she doesn't make paintings anymore but maybe I could get a copy sort of thing like you said
I'll bet she already has prints. Look for a website (or just ask her).
