I just got an image in my head of both of them sitting outside a gas station eating ice cream with a bunch of massacred quail in the back seat.
I think I need to unplug for a while.

It’s still a daily “easter egg hunt” but since some of the girls are acting all broody, they’re more in each spot!!

Mine lay in the dirt boxes lol only 2 layers though or maybe 3. I think I offed one tonight

At this point the party is more like the end of a funeral.

It literally took me like 2 1/2 or 3 hours

Longer if you count the time it took me to catch them and bring them in, etc.

Probably like half hour or 20 minutes to butcher them (I tried to be as fast as possible but by the time I let them drain etc. it ended up being longer) and then like legit 10 minutes short of 2 hours to process but I also took pics of the meat and organs and bagged them so that might be why it was longer. I will say skinning went a lot faster this time. It was easy. The first one I tried scalding and it was easy but then I accidentally tore the skin so I just skinned it

Some of the meat was out a while so hopefully it’s okay.

But by the end I was processing so fast lol

Ended up doing 7 boys and 1 girl. I kind of regret doing the girl cause I think she was laying and she was gorgeous. but she had really swollen/messed up feet and I didn’t feel like doctoring her

Some of the boys had MASSIVE gonads so I guess I picked the right ones to butcher

There’s still a few boys left but

Yes I did!! And I’m exhausted. WAIT!!! No!! Not THAT kind of stuff!!!!! EWWWWW!!!!

Just regular stuff. Not stuff.

I was outside with the chicks a lot today just watching them (at one point mama abandoned 2 and went inside tbf though it was the two troublemakers ) and I also butchered and processed 8 birds today. my feet hurt so damn much lol then I took the trash out with the parts and showered and now relaxing. Oh and I also did the dishes today

It definitely did!!! I think the first one earlier this week I just had no clue what I was doing haha also these ones all had wayyyy more meat on them!! I think I might just give that runty one to DB’s dogs or something
