The one year I was in charge of Thanksgiving dinner, I gave my flock the turkey carcass. Those birds were better than a dermestid beetle colony. Never seen cleaner bones from a fresh skeleton

Oh wow!!! Have you ever tried using black soldier fly larvae? I saw some video somewhat recently where they cleaned two fish carcasses super fast.

I tend to avoid it out of concern for disease transmission, as I don't think it's a good idea to engage in that sort of cyclical feeding for any animal species, but I don't mind if they grab a few scraps.

That makes sense!!! I’ve seen people like purposely feeding their chickens chicken carcasses to clean and stuff and it just freaks me out lol I don’t mind if other people do it but it just feels wrong to me other species, fine, but I can’t do cannibalism lol
