Eh, I've healed worse. Just recently I had a quail lose all the flesh on the left side of its face, including half an eyelid. I didn't even clean it; the bird healed entirely (minus a weird eye) without any interference on my behalf. I'd give it some time and see if the swelling goes down. If not, then I'd cull it.
Oh wow!! That’s amazing!! I had one with a bad looking head wound but it seemed to heal too!!

Do you think I should build them a new pen or? I think I only have like 7 left now

I would, or at least block the wire off somehow. Quail are ground birds IMO. They are far happier when they can hide in leafy cover and dig around in the soil. They display fewer neurotic behaviours when they can do so.

Okay thanks! And yeah I think so too! I wanted to do that initially but cages were faster  but I’m thinking I’m going to work on building them a new pen. Or at least maybe move them into one of the chicken ones or something. Some of mine are definitely neurotic! Grabbing each other by the heads and whatnot. Hopefully with less testosterone in there that will help 😂🤣 but I’m going to work on giving them a new pen too. I think they could also use some hidey places.

Since we are off subject @sourland Thanks for all the broody help. Half my flock is broody. 2 hens are brooding in the same box, even though there is empty boxes elsewhere. :plbb
Wow his broody magic stuff works really well 😂🤣🥰

I have a broody atm too :)

Except she’s now a mother lol
